Brandon Hwang

Co-President

Brandon Hwang is a second-year concentrating in Economics with minors in Finance and Political Economy. Apart from his role in PNG, Brandon is involved with Business Today, the Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Public Policy & Finance, and the Tigertones. This past summer, he interned with Business Today as a Corporate Contacts Manager, raising funds for BT's conferences and programs, and he currently works as a part-time analyst for Castle Placement LLC, a private capital middle-market investment bank. He will be interning at Brightstar Capital Partners as a Private Equity Summer Analyst.

Brandon Cheng

Co-President

Brandon Cheng is a junior at Princeton majoring in Computer Science, pursuing minors in Finance, Statistics and Machine Learning, and Cello Performance. He previously served as an officer of Princeton Impact Capital, an ESG-focused investment club and is an Undergraduate Associate through the Rabinowitz Center. Brandon's professional experiences include summers interning at consulting firm Agile Rainmakers and macro hedge fund Brevan Howard ($35B AUM), and has previously worked in business development and data science roles at start-ups including Artemis.xyz, Elevate Career Platform, and Ghostpacer. In Summer 2024, Brandon will be joining the Citadel Associates Program to develop expertise in multi-strategy hedged equity strategies.

Jack Deschenes

Head of Quantitative Research

Jack Deschenes is a junior in the operations research and financial engineering department at Princeton. He is focused on algorithm development and optimization, game theory, markets, and trading. Most recently, he was working as a quantitative researcher for Markov Processes International, a financial technology firm based in Summit, New Jersey. He was responsible for the development of proprietary algorithms utilizing novel methods for returns-based style analysis, among other projects. Next summer, he will be a quantitative trading intern at Jane Street. Outside of finance, Jack enjoys chess, poker, tutoring, community service, and music.

Eli Soffer

Chair of the Investment Committee

Eli Soffer is a sophomore at Princeton studying Economics with minors in Finance and Judaic Studies. Other than PNG/PGI, Eli serves as a co-president of Tiger Investments and a partner at Tiger Sustainable Investment Group, and is actively involved in Jewish life. He has worked at Cross Current Research, a boutique equity research firm in Florida, Weiss Asset Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund in Boston, and this summer he will be working at another multi-strategy hedge fund in San Francisco.

Rebecca Zhu

Quantitative Portfolio Manager

Rebecca Zhu is a junior at Princeton majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Statistics and Machine Learning. She is interested in the intersection of finance and technology and previously interned at Five Rings Capital and JP Morgan Chase as a Software Developer Intern. In Summer 2024, Rebecca will be joining BlackEdge Capital as a Quantitative Trader Intern. Outside of academics, she is Social Chair of the Princeton Powerlifting Team.

Samuel Henriques

Quantitative Portfolio Manager

Samuel Henriques is a sophomore at Princeton studying Operations Research and Financial Engineering with minors in Computer Science, Finance, and Math. He is interested in market making, game theory, and advanced topics in probability and statistics, and he wishes to pursue a career in quantitative trading or other quantitative financial analysis disciplines. Apart from PNG, he has worked as a fixed income analyst at Magnetar Capital, has participated in a trading program at Jane Street, and will be interning at the Cubist Systematic branch of Point72 as a quantitative researcher focused on trading strategies.

Michael Deschenes

Portfolio Manager

Michael is a junior in the economics department at Princeton pursuing minors in finance and statistics and machine learning. This summer, he will be in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Bank of America. During the summer of 2023, he interned under the hedged equity portfolio manager at ArrowMark Partners, a $22B AUM multi-strategy investment manager, and last winter, he worked at Ara Partners, a decarbonization-focused private equity firm. On campus, he mentors a handful of underclassmen interested in careers in finance and tutors locally. He also has led several weeks-long canoe trips in the Northeast and Canada.

Jason Ciptonugroho

Portfolio Manager

Jason Ciptonugroho is a second-year Princeton student concentrating in Operations Research & Financial Engineering with minors in Computer Science and Finance. Apart from being a Portfolio Manager at PNG, Jason is also involved with the Tiger Sustainable Investment Group, the Princeton Corporate Finance Club, and Princeton University Nonprofit Consulting. He has previously held internships in Private Equity with Ara Partners, Consulting with Kearney, and Hedge Funds with Bracebridge Capital. This coming summer he also will be interning at DelMorgan & Co as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst.

Ellie Mueller

Portfolio Manager

Ellie Mueller is a fourth-year at Princeton concentrating in Economics. Apart from serving as a Portfolio Manager at PNG, she is a student-athlete on the Princeton Women's Lacrosse Team, an appointed representative on the University Student Government Social Committee, a member of the Princeton Corporate Finance Club, as well as a tutor and Undergraduate Course Assistant for various Economics courses at Princeton. This past summer, she interned at Goldman Sachs in New York City in the Investment Banking Division and will be returning as a full-time analyst.
